Melisa Gallison began her real estate career in Beverly Hills, California, in 1994 working at a full service boutique firm handling buyers and sellers of high-end properties. That experience included working with celebrities and marketing multi-million dollar properties, as well as residential and commercial leasing.
Since moving to Wilmington, NC in 1997, Melisa has worked in new construction representing builders and developers, first as an on-site agent, then as Sales Manager and Director of Business Development, and more recently as New Homes Director, focusing on residential development and market consulting for developers & builders and handling all aspects of marketing, promotion, staffing and sales. She now serves as Broker in Charge and Sales Manager for the Wilmington Lumina II general brokerage office, where she is responsible for recruiting, coaching and oversight for the agents in her office.

Melisa has extensive new homes industry training including her Master CSP and CMP designations. She is a member of the Wilmington Cape Fear Homebuilders Association and Sales & Marketing Council, where she served on the Executive Council for six years. Melisa was recognized by the Home Builders Association by being awarded Sales Manager of the Year for eight consecutive years, and she received the Cathy Clark Spirit Award as well as several awards for her community service.
Melisa was also recognized by the North Carolina Association of Realtors with the 2013 Ben Ball Community Service Award and by the Wilmington Regional Association of Realtors with the 2012 Paul Sullins Award.
Melisa believes strongly in community service and giving back. She currently serves on the Park Sterling Bank Advisory Board and her community HOA Board, and she has served on the Board of Directors for the Greater and Wilmington Chamber Foundation, New Hanover Humane Society, and Carolina Canines For Service. She remains an active volunteer with the New Hanover Humane Society, as well as the Willie Stargell Celebrity Golf Tournament, She Rocks organization and numerous other non-profits. She is a graduate of Leadership Wilmington and was the recipient of the first Karl Davis Leadership Wilmington Alumni of the Year award. Melisa drove to Louisiana to volunteer with Noah’s Wish in Slidell, LA, after Hurricane Katrina hit her home state, and formed The KARMA Foundation to help feed companion animals when their human partners experience temporary economic challenges.
Melisa is very proud of the recognition her sales agents have received, including Salesperson of the Year, Sales Team of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Marketer of the Year, Paul Sullins Award recipient, Sally Noffsinger Award and the #1 Individual Agent in the company for several consecutive years.
